Classic Inca Trail 4D/3N

PROGRAM: 4 DAYS/3NIGHTS


CIRCUIT: Cusco- KM 82- Huayllabamba- Pacaymayu- Wiñaywayna- Machu Picchu- Cusco.

The Inca trail is one of the unforgettable experiences you can have in the Andes: the different landscapes, microclimates, beautiful views at snow capped mountains and into green valleys in the atmosphere of old inca times. You will visit diferents  archaeological sites and have the option for an overnight stay in Machupicchu town.

 

ITINERARI:
 

1st DAY:  Cuzco- Km 82- Huayllabamba
 

Pickup from your hotel, transport to KM 82,start walking about 5-6 hours.You first see the inca terraces of Patallaqta, then end up in Huayllabamba for the first camp.

Maximum altitude: 3,000 m (9,840 ft)
Campsite altitude: 3,000 m (9,840 ft)

 

 

2nd DAY:Huayllabamba- Pacaymayu.


The hardest part of the trail starts this morning when you walk from 3000m to the Warmiwañusca pass at 4200m. Then descend to the camp in Pacaymayu. Total walking time 6-7 hours.

 

Total distance: 12 km (7.5 miles)

Maximum altitude: 4,200 m (13,770 ft)
Campsite altitude: 3,500 m (11,480 ft)

3rd DAY: Pacaymayu- Wiñaywayna
 

Start of a beautiful day with visits of the archaeological sites of Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Conchamarca and Puyupatamarca before entering the complex of Wiñaywayna. If lucky, you have beautiful panoramic views of snow capped mountains in the area. Campsite near the ruins.

 

Total distance: 16 km (10miles)

Maximum altitude point: 3,800 m (12,470 ft)
Campsite altitude: 2,650 m (8,700 ft)

 

 

4th DAY: Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu
 

An early start to walk to the Sungate, to try to see the sun entering Machu Picchu. Guided visit of the most important parts of the ruins. If you like you can climb the Wayna Picchu mountain. Return to Cusco in the afternoon. (Optional overnight stay in Aguas calientes town.

Tips for the guide, cook and porters

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:
 
Due to the popularity of the Inca Trail we recomend that you book as far in advance as possible in order to secure a place.
There are only a limited number of permits issued per day for the trail. We do of course have many other exciting treks to should you be too late to secure a permit.
RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

We suggest you arrive in Cusco at least two days before your trek to allow yourself time to acclimatize. The more acclimatized you are the more you will enjoy the trek.
Please let us know the name and telephone number of your hotel in Cusco so we can locate you if needed.

Step 2.-We will require a non-refundable trek deposit of US$250 per person confirming your trek booking.
Step 3.-Send an e-mail to  with the code of the payment that you made.
Step 4.- You will get a confirmation e-mail from us with the conformity of your reservation.
